Done Right, A Good Interview And A Strong Statement Can Effect Considerable Change

We work with solicitors, insurers and HR professionals on a lot of our bigger and lengthier investigatory cases and, when we do, there’s really no way of getting away from the fact that long-form interviews are going to be a necessary part of the process.

It doesn’t matter whether it’s interviewing someone you believe to be guilty of an act of misconduct, or fraud, a witness or even a victim, they need to be interviewed in a manner that is professional, legally sound, fair, appropriate and with the best chance of allegations becoming evidence and a successful result for the client achieved.

Recently, we worked with someone as part of our ‘Harassment and Distress Support Service’ to compile a very detailed victim statement for a decidedly complicated case of harassment that the victim did not feel she was receiving the support from her local police service. It required an awful amount of planning, patience and attention to detail along with a great deal of empathy towards what the victim was feeling. We compiled a strong and comprehensive statement of effect and submitted it alongside copious pieces of supplementary evidence to her local police station with the result that it no longer went ignored as it had before.

Whether it is for the purposes of an insurance investigation, an internal organisational matter, personal injury cases, gathering evidence relating to a criminal act or support in a civil matter, Surmount Investigations can support in professionally interviewing individuals and taking their statement as a matter of official record.

Our skill-set in this area can be adapted to suit your needs, whatever the situation. All our staff are trained and experienced in interviewing to the standards and regulations as laid out in The Police and Criminal Evidence Act [PACE] (1984).
